Surah Al Kahf (The Cave) Ayat 40

فَعَسَىٰ رَبِّىٓ أَن يُؤْتِيَنِ خَيْرًا مِّن جَنَّتِكَ وَيُرْسِلَ عَلَيْهَا حُسْبَانًا مِّنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ فَتُصْبِحَ صَعِيدًا زَلَقًا
  • Muhammad Habib Shakir: Then maybe my Lord will give me what is better than your garden, and send on it a thunderbolt from heaven so that it shall become even ground without plant,
  • Abdullah Yusuf Ali: "It may be that my Lord will give me something better than thy garden, and that He will send on thy garden thunderbolts (by way of reckoning) from heaven, making it (but) slippery sand!-
  • M.Pickthall: Yet it may be that my Lord will give me better than thy garden, and will send on it a bolt from heaven, and some morning it will be a smooth hillside,
  • Amatul Rahmân Omer: `There is every hope that my Lord will give me a garden better than yours and He may visit this (garden of yours) with thunderbolts from above, so that it is turned into a barren waste.
  • Maulana Mohammad Ali: And wherefore didst thou not say, when thou enteredst thy garden: It is as Allah has pleased -- there is no power save in Allah? If thou consider me as less than thee in wealth and children --
