Surah Al Ghashiyah (The Overwhelming) Ayat 1

بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ هَلْ أَتَىٰكَ حَدِيثُ ٱلْغَٰشِيَةِ

Muhammad Habib Shakir: Has not there come to you the news of the overwhelming calamity?

Abdullah Yusuf Ali: Has the story reached thee of the overwhelming (Event)?

M.Pickthall: Hath there come unto thee tidings of the Overwhelming?

Amatul Rahmân Omer: There has reached you the news of the overwhelming event (- the Resurrection).

Maulana Mohammad Ali: Faces on that day will be downcast,
