وَلَٰكِن كَذَّبَ وَتَوَلَّىٰ
  • Muhammad Habib Shakir: But called the truth a lie and turned back,
  • Abdullah Yusuf Ali: But on the contrary, he rejected Truth and turned away!
  • M.Pickthall: But he denied and flouted.
  • Amatul Rahmân Omer: Rather he cried lies (to the truth and the Prophet) and turned away (refusing to obey His commandments).
  • Maulana Mohammad Ali: But denied and turned back,
