Muhammad Habib Shakir: And when it is said to them, Come to what Allah has revealed and to the Messenger, they say: That on which we found our fathers is sufficient for us. What! even though their fathers knew nothing and did not follow the right way.
Abdullah Yusuf Ali: When it is said to them: "Come to what Allah hath revealed; come to the Messenger": They say: "Enough for us are the ways we found our fathers following." what! even though their fathers were void of knowledge and guidance?
M.Pickthall: And when it is said unto them: Come unto that which Allah hath revealed and unto the messenger, they say: Enough for us is that wherein we found our fathers. What! Even though their fathers had no knowledge whatsoever, and no guidance?
Amatul Rahmân Omer: And when it is said to them, `Come to what Allâh has revealed and to this perfect Messenger.´ They say, `Sufficient for us is that (tradition) whereon we have found our forefathers.´ What! (would they follow them blindly) even though their forefathers had no knowledge whatsoever and had no guidance?
Maulana Mohammad Ali: Allah has not ordained a bahirah or a sa’ibah or a wasilah or a hami, but those who disbelieve fabricate a lie against Allah. And most of them understand not.
