  • Surah Al Maidah (The Table Spread with Food) Ayat 81


  • وَلَوْ
  • كَانُوا۟
  • يُؤْمِنُونَ
  • بِٱللَّهِ
  • وَٱلنَّبِىِّ
  • وَمَآ
  • أُنزِلَ
  • إِلَيْهِ
  • مَا
  • ٱتَّخَذُوهُمْ
  • أَوْلِيَآءَ
  • وَلَٰكِنَّ
  • كَثِيرًا
  • مِّنْهُمْ
  • فَٰسِقُونَ
  • Muhammad Habib Shakir: And had they believed in Allah and the prophet and what was revealed to him, they would not have taken them for friends but! most of them are transgressors.
  • Abdullah Yusuf Ali: If only they had believed in Allah, in the Prophet, and in what hath been revealed to him, never would they have taken them for friends and protectors, but most of them are rebellious wrong-doers.
  • M.Pickthall: If they believed in Allah and the Prophet and that which is revealed unto him, they would not choose them for their friends. But many of them are of evil conduct.
  • Amatul Rahmân Omer: And if they had believed in Allâh and this perfect Prophet and (in) what has been revealed to him, they would not have taken them for allies; but (they do so for) many of them are disobedient.
  • Maulana Mohammad Ali: Thou seest many of them befriending those who disbelieve. Certainly evil is that which their souls send before for them, so that Allah is displeased with them and in chastisement will they abide.
