  • Surah Al Maidah (The Table Spread with Food) Ayat 38


  • وَٱلسَّارِقُ
  • وَٱلسَّارِقَةُ
  • فَٱقْطَعُوٓا۟
  • أَيْدِيَهُمَا
  • جَزَآءًۢ
  • بِمَا
  • كَسَبَا
  • نَكَٰلًا
  • مِّنَ
  • ٱللَّهِ
  • ۗ
  • وَٱللَّهُ
  • عَزِيزٌ
  • حَكِيمٌ
  • Muhammad Habib Shakir: And (as for) the man who steals and the woman who steals, cut off their hands as a punishment for what they have earned, an exemplary punishment from Allah; and Allah is Mighty, Wise.
  • Abdullah Yusuf Ali: As to the thief, Male or female, cut off his or her hands: a punishment by way of example, from Allah, for their crime: and Allah is Exalted in power.
  • M.Pickthall: As for the thief, both male and female, cut off their hands. It is the reward of their own deeds, an exemplary punishment from Allah. Allah is Mighty, Wise.
  • Amatul Rahmân Omer: And as for the man addicted to theft and the woman addicted to theft, cut off their hands in retribution of (the crime) that they have committed - an exemplary punishment from Allâh. And Allâh is All-Mighty, All-Wise.
  • Maulana Mohammad Ali: They would desire to come forth from the Fire, and they will not come forth from it, and theirs is a lasting chastisement.
